Winter is a time Ken works on a series of his "Guardians", created in remembrance of Arrow, a Russian Wolfhound. Working with images and feelings from a memory is a very different, and difficult, process, but it is also very fulfilling and exciting when the imagery emerges intact. Terra cotta clay and a sculptural focus provide the path and the wood fire completes these pieces. Singularly, they are wonderful in an entryway or alcove. Large wall spaces are ideal for groupings. Each "Guardian" is approximately 46" H. Guardians price range $2800 - $3500.
Two "guardians" were installed in Ambassador Owens-Kirkpatrick's residence in Niamey, Niger, Africa as part of the Art in Embassies Program of the U.S. Department of State.
